On this day, our goal was to scout out camping spots for future overnight trips. We checked out several campgrounds, yellow post sites, dispersed camping spots, and had a great time in the process. Some of the yellow post sites were not only remote, but also required a good amount of wheeling in rock gardens, shelf roads, and more. If we didn’t know better, we would have called these remote sites “dispersed, middle-of-nowhere sites.” There were so many wonderful camping spots, which we marked in our mapping records. We also found this very fun, beginner-friendly rocky waterfall not far from Holcomb Valley Rd, and not far from one of the campgrounds we hit the “like” button on. In this hot weather, it won’t be long before we return for an evening under the stars.
